Hosting Multi User Sessions
In this tutorial, you will learn know how to setup and host your own multi-user sessions with your session planner app.
What is a multi-user session?
Well, to put it simple, your session planner can operate as a powerful online whiteboard.
So everyone connected, can visualize and interact with everything on your planner in real-time.
No matter where they are in the world, and what platform they are using.
You could say it's an online tactics board for basketball coaches where everyone can collaborate with your viewers instantly.
To start a multi-user session, it’s really easy.
All you do is create a session link, and send that link out to anyone you want to connect to your session planner.
Creating a multi-user session link
1. Click "Admin"
2. Select "Host Live Session"
This will open the "Host Live Session" window, where you create your session link.
When creating a session link, you have 2 options.
A. Create a session in the future, by setting a future date and time.
B. Create an Ad Hoc session, which creates a session link that is immediately active for the timeframe you set.
To create a session link for a future session:
1. Click box 1, and select the date and time you want the session to start.
The time zone should automatically be set to your time zone. If it isn't, then click the time zone box and select your zone.
2. Now click box 2 and select how long the session will be active for.
3. Click "Create Session Link" to create a session link.
4. Copy the session link you created and send it to anyone you want to connect to the session.
The session link will become active on the date and time you set, and will be de-activated when the timeframe is met.
So if anyone connects to your session planner with the link before the session starts, will be presented with a popup message telling them the session has not started yet.
And if anyone connects to your session after the time has expired, will be presented with a message saying the session has ended.
When someone connects with your session link when the session is active, then they will be presented with a popup box, asking for their name.
Once they input their name, they will be connected to your live session.
When visitors connect to you session, they connect using a session viewer app, which is a cut down version of the session planner. All they can do is view the session, or draw on the canvas with the drawing tools and markers.
They can also export what's on the canvas to an image on your own computers.
Note:
Anyone connected to the session, when the timeframe expires will stay connected, until they close the session viewer app (in case sessions run over)
To create an Ad Hoc session:
1. Click "Admin"
2. Select "Host Live Session"
This will open the "Host Live Session" window, where you create your session link.
3. Click box 2, and set how long the session will last.
4. Click "Create Session Link".
The date and time will automatically be set to now.
Now copy the link and send that link to anyone you want to connect.
The session link will be active for the duration you set, then it will be deactivated.
