This will drop the line slightly.

This will make the line appear under the pasted line.

The grey line should now appear below the pasted line
13. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the shadow line into position.
14. Drag the end handle, where the arrow is and drag it down slightly, so it looks like it's on the floor.
One end of the grey line should be just below the pasted line, and the end with the arrow should be much lower than the line with the arrow end.

You should see 4 end point handles.

12. Now click the black ink colour to make the transparent area black. (or use grey to make it a lighter shadow)
13. Click the area you created again to highlight it.

15. Right click the canvas and select paste.
You should now see the copied layer appear below the shadow layer.
16. Right click the canvas again, select layer and click "move to bottom"
The shadow layer should now appear below the coloured layer you just added.
17. Now select the multi-line tool and select the colour you want to use. We use white for the end area line.
18. Now change the line thickness to 2, so the tool creates a slightly thinner line.
19. Now move your cursor to point 1 on the coloured area we created.
20. Click the mouse button once, to start creating the outside line.
21. Drag your mouse cursor to the colours area position 2 and click your mouse button.
22. Again move your mouse to area position 3 and click again.
23. Finally, move your cursor to position 1 again, but this time double click the canvas to lay the line down.
You should have a cool looking transparent area on your canvas now.
You can adjust the colours, and move the shadow up or down to make the area look like its floating above the ground.

As you use these techniques more and more, you will find that create lines is a very simple process.
